- Dongwon Yun, a professor at DGIST, and his research group have developed a compliance compensator capable of measuring 6-axis force/torque and displacement. The developed device has high compliance in the lateral direction, allowing it to absorb shocks. It can measure the applied force and resulting displacement, making it useful for feedback control in robot applications.

- The device, when attached to a commercial manipulator, significantly reduces assembly reaction forces in assembly automation processes through manual compliance and active feedback control (force or displacement) using robots. It is expected to be applicable not only in assembly processes but also in tasks requiring interaction with the external environment, such as shock absorption and force control.

- This research has been published in the prestigious academic journal IEEE-ASME Transactions on Mechatronics (IF: 6.4, JCR top 6.2%) in the field of mechanical engineering.
