Professor Jae-Hong Lee’s research team in Robotics department has developed a high-performance fiber-type electronic device (sensor) that can be used in next-generation electronic clothing. This technology helps to manufacture a fiber-type strain sensor through a chemical reduction technique based on silver (Ag) nanoparticles, and unlike the existing technology, it does not use harmful materials in the entire process, greatly improving the efficiency of the process.

The fiber-type flexible electronic device manufacturing technology developed by this research team was developed with the participation of a large number of undergraduate students through the DGIST intern program. The research work was published in highly reputable journal ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces (IF=9.227).
