Soft Biomedical Devices Lab (SoBiLab) led by Prof. Jaehong Lee in Department of Robotics Engineering has developed a multifunctional electronic suture which can be directly sutured onto target wound sites.

The developed electronic suture can monitor the suture integrity in real-time by measuring tensile strain applied to the sutured sensor. In addition, the electronic suture can load desired drug and release it on-demand based on controllable heat generation of the electronic suture.

This research work was published in the international journal for nanotechnology, Nanoscale (IF=7.79, JCR top 14%).
