- Prof. Jaehong Lee's research group has developed an implantable and wireless strain sensing electronic suture system that can be easily applied in actual medical settings.- Compared to the previous suture system, it has improved biocompatibility and accuracy in wireless signal measurement.- The developed suture system was applied to a porcine model to measure the strain applied to the porcine Achilles tendon over a long period (10 weeks). They also designed a mathematical model of the porcine leg to analyze the strain as a measure of the mechanical stiffness of the Achilles tendon, providing quantitative recovery indicators. Based on this, personalized rehabilitation can maximize recovery after orthopedic surgery.- This research was conducted jointly with Prof. Jungmok Seo's research group at Yonsei University and Prof. Woo Young Jang's research team at Korea University School of Medicine, increasing the actual clinical applicability.- This work was published in the prestigious international journal 'ACS Nano' (IF: 17.1) in the field of materials science and nanotechnology, and selected as a journal cover.- 이재홍 교수 연구팀은 실제 의료현장에 손쉽게 적용할 수 있는 인체삽입형 무선 센싱 전자봉합사를 개발함.- 기존에 개발된 봉합사형 시스템에 비해 생체적합성, 무선 신호 측정 정확도를 향상시켰음.- 개발한 봉합사형 시스템을 돼지 모델에 적용하여 돼지 아킬레스건에 가해지는 스트레인을 장기간(10주) 측정하였고, 돼지 다리 모델을 수학적으로 설계하여 스트레인을 아킬레스건의 기계적 강성으로 분석하여 정량적 회복 지표를 제시함.
